Located in the heart of this small and friendly village, Iain and Sharon welcome you to the Chequers Inn at Aston Tirrold Oxfordshire. The pub dates back to the 15th century and was originally separate houses built in local brick. Iain and Sharon have restored its reputation of an old English pub with low beams, friendly local atmosphere and open fires when the weather turns chilly. The well-kept beer garden provides pleasant drinking in the summer with a thriving Aunt Sally team and children’s tree house. There is also a fair Darts team.

Sharon and her daughter Sarah cook the food at The Chequers and it is good traditional food, served from the bar or in the restaurant most lunch and evenings with a traditional Sunday roast at the weekend (See also the specials board). After sampling some of the best food in the area try one of the beautiful local walks or for the more "keen" walkers try the Ridgeway Path a short distance away, but it's tempting just to stay in the pub and enjoy our fine beers and wines
