"Highlight of Glastonbury” Mark Radcliffe BBC2
BEST ALBUM- Spiral Earth (Readers poll) BEST LIVE ACT- Spiral Earth (Readers poll) BEST LIVE ACT- Hancock Awards
Bringing vibrant new songs from their brand new album “Year of the Clown”, festival favourites 3 Daft Monkeys will be performing a brand new set of their quirky,
original and upbeat fiddle-driven tunes at the Wycombe Arts Centre, High Wycombe on Friday 5th May.
Now with a 4-piece line-up, the band will be taking their famously dynamic live show to new danceable heights.
After experiencing the band’s notoriously energetic live performance at Glastonbury, Mark Radcliffe declared them as one of his “Highlights of the Festival” on BBC TV,
and subsequently invited them to play a session on his BBC Radio 2 Folk Show.
With Celtic and eastern influences, Cornwall-based 3 Daft Monkeys’ style of world folk music reflects the global village in which we now live.
Their infectious dancing rhythms lead you through a musical journey of the senses and emotions, and will leave you breathless, enthralled and exhilarated.
Following a highly successful crowdfunding campaign, 3DM are releasing a brand new album.
The title track “Year of the Clown” is a social and whimsical comment on the ‘elected principles’ in the world circus, who appear to be the fools.
“The musicianship- the virtuosity, the song craft, the arrangement- is simply astonishing “ (Spiral Earth)
“Varied and stirring acoustic style.. Outstanding fiddle work” (The Guardian)
“Music as joyously life-affirming as this deserves a huge audience” (West Briton)
“A brilliant band... I think this is absolutely amazing” Mike Harding (BBC Radio 2)
“A veritable melting pot of styles makes a colourful carnival of sound” (fROOTS)
“Their live show strikes a quality balance of spaced-out dizziness, dance-ability and sophisticated folk music.” (Bearded Theory Festival)

Colour is one of the powerful tools at a photographers disposal. Along with shape, texture, space, line and form, it is one of the six classic elements of design. Visual story-telling is made effective through the use of colour, which can make a photograph feel vibrant, exciting, mysterious, scary, serious or even sad. Colour is a great way to communicate emotion in our images.

This exhibition brings together a full spectrum of colour images from all aspects of our lives.

A SPLASH OF COLOUR is a touring exhibition created and supported by The Photographic Angle.

Talk: Grandma Flew Spitfires, 20th May 2017, 14:00 to 16:00 at Southcourt Community Centre, Prebendal Avenue, Aylesbury (20.1 miles)
168 women were among more than one thousand civilian pilots to deliver over 300,000 aircraft from factory to airfield during World War Two, flying everything from Tiger Moths for training to heavy bombers. They also supported the RAF and Fleet Air Arm by ferrying aircraft between maintenance units and operational bases. Training was done at Haddenham. Speaker John Webster is from the Maidenhead Heritage Centre, where a permanent exhibition tells the forgotten story of courage, skill and sacrifice and an archive provides a lasting memorial to these little-known men and women.
