The Chiltern villages are some of the loveliest in the country. They also possess a rich history and many distinctive features. Speaker Colin Oakes will look at the villages, and those which are now towns, those that inspire and are visited by tourists and locals alike. As the Chilterns is a large area it will include villages in Bucks, Herts, Oxon and even Bedfordshire. Many Buckinghamshire Family History Society members will have ancestors who came from this area, and Colin will examine village life, industry, customs and traditions. He'll also explain the love film and television companies have for using the area in their productions.
Buckinghamshire Family History Society welcomes non-members to its meetings; entry is £4.
